It's clear to me, that factory farming isn't merely an institution set out to torture animals. All though there is plenty of money to be had in the factory farm industry, most individuals could care less where there meat comes from, or how it's processed. The majority of the world just cares that there is plenty to go around and that the cost is low. Factory farms have in a sense, kept the world population from starvation, as millions of pounds of meet and poultry items are processed daily and provided to the people at an inexpensive. But what about the effect on rural communities throughout Iowa? Are the factory farms detrimental to economy and environment of these small farm towns? It's easy to see that Iowa is at a crossroads.
